Remove C2PA Content Credentials
C2PA Content Credentials are embedded provenance manifests that chain an image back to its AI origin. RAIW removes these credentials directly from the file container.
Quick clean includes 3 free removals per IP each day, with Standard output up to 12 MP. Keeping the original resolution above that size or continuing after the daily limit requires paid processing.
What changes, and what does not
- Removed
- The C2PA manifest and related AI provenance fields.
- Preserved
- Encoded image pixels, dimensions, and standard Author or Copyright fields.
- Verify
- Run the free provenance checker before and after. The result should no longer report C2PA Content Credentials.
Removing provenance and credentials
C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is an industry standard for embedding provenance data in media files. Content Credentials act as a digital manifest recording how an image was created (including the AI generator used, such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT Images 2.0, DALL-E, or Google Gemini).
RAIW focuses strictly on removing this manifest. It targets the JUMBF boxes in JPEG files and C2PA-related XMP metadata, effectively unchaining the image from its generated provenance.
What happens to the image?
Because C2PA manifests exist entirely within the file metadata container, removing them does not require altering the image itself. The pixel data remains untouched. The result is an identical-looking image that simply lacks the embedded provenance trail.
Fast and private
Since C2PA removal only involves editing file metadata:
- Fast processing: The file is processed securely via our automated backend.
- Privacy: Uploaded images and results currently have no automatic expiry. We retain them until they are no longer needed or we receive a valid deletion request that identifies them. We never sell them.
