Remove the Instagram AI label from images
Instagram displays a 'Made with AI' label when it detects C2PA Content Credentials or IPTC AI-disclosure metadata in your image. RAIW strips those signals instantly, for free.
What triggers the label on Instagram
Instagram's label detection looks for two metadata signals, in order of priority:
- C2PA Content Credentials - a manifest signed by the AI generator (OpenAI, Adobe, Google, etc.) and embedded in the file.
- IPTC
digitalSourceType- an XMP field marking the image as algorithmically created or AI-edited.
Images from ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Adobe Photoshop Generative Fill, Canva AI, and most major AI tools embed one or both of these.
What RAIW removes
RAIW strips the full C2PA manifest, the IPTC digitalSourceType XMP field, and other AI provenance metadata (EXIF generator fields, PNG text chunks, and more). This removes the proven metadata triggers for the label — instantly and for free.
An honest note on Instagram's pixel classifier
Meta also runs a proprietary pixel-level classifier that analyzes image content independently of any metadata. Stripping metadata does not disable this classifier — if your image triggers it, the label may still appear.
RAIW removes what can be removed. The paid All-in-one mode regenerates the image through a diffusion pass on cloud GPUs, disrupting known invisible watermark patterns. No tool can guarantee the result against a closed, evolving classifier.

Frequently asked questions
- Will removing the metadata always remove the Instagram label?
- Usually, but not guaranteed. The C2PA and IPTC metadata are the primary triggers, and stripping them removes the label in most cases. Meta also runs a pixel-level classifier independent of metadata — if that fires, the label may persist.
- What if my image is from Photoshop Generative Fill?
- Photoshop's Generative Fill marks images as 'compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia' in the C2PA manifest, which triggers the label even for minor AI edits. RAIW strips that manifest, so the label signal is removed.
- Does the paid All-in-one mode help with Instagram?
- Yes. It disrupts invisible pixel watermarks (like SynthID from Google) that Meta's classifier may also check. It does not disable Meta's general visual AI classifier, but it removes the pixel-level signals our tool can reach.
- Is RAIW free for Instagram images?
- Removing the metadata that triggers the label is completely free. The paid All-in-one mode adds pixel-level watermark disruption.
No signup required. Visible and metadata removal always free. GPU modes cost $1.49 per image. Supports PNG, JPG, and WebP.
